About Us

DRP Capital is an investment bank advising clients in China and around the world on cross-border M&A in the industrial, technology and medical sectors.

Our Story

The story of DRP Capital and my personal story as founder have included many “firsts”. I worked in China’s first joint venture investment bank, participating in some of China’s first major overseas IPOs and leading some of China’s first large-sized cross-border M&A deals. Afterwards, as Head of China M&A for a major global bank, I led the bank’s first dedicated M&A team in Shanghai.

Over 12 years of working in Beijing and Shanghai, I learned the importance of combining both a deep understanding of local culture and business practices with expert knowledge of M&A. I also learned first-hand the value of having an experienced and knowledgeable local team on the ground in mainland China. At the same time, I saw that there were very few high-quality M&A advisory firms in China to serve the rapidly growing needs of global companies seeking acquisitions in China and Chinese firms looking to expand overseas.

As a result, in 2009, with the invaluable support of friends, clients and colleagues, I set out to launch another first – DRP Capital. We decided from the start to focus on a limited number of sectors and to work with a select number of high-quality clients to help build their businesses through M&A.

Today, ten years later, we remain focused on three sectors in which cross-border M&A is a critical success factor: industrials, technology and medical. We have completed M&A projects in China and around the world and now occupy three offices in mainland China, Hong Kong and the USA. Our clients have also grown dramatically over the years, and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for us to continue supporting and growing with them.

Our Approach

We focus on China-related M&A in the industrial, technology and medical sectors, and in relation to our M&A business, we also leverage our network of strategic and financial investors to assist rising stars in these sectors to raise growth financing. We work on transactions of all sizes and support our clients throughout all stages of the M&A process, including, when required by buyers, systematic target search. Our senior bankers and the rest of our team apply world-class investment banking expertise and experience to all assignments and immerse themselves in all aspects of each transaction, guiding our clients to help them avoid pitfalls and achieve success.

The Benefits

Our flexibility to work on all transactions pursued by our clients regardless of size, and at all stages in the M&A process, allows us to match our services to client needs better than other firms. We build long-term, trusted relationships with our clients and are proud that the majority of them have chosen to engage us on multiple projects. Working on multiple projects for the same client gives us a familiarity with our clients’ businesses and, combined with our deep experience, sector knowledge, and financial expertise, enables our clients to benefit from a superior service.
